Prince Olusegun Ilori Esq, is a legal practitioner and Chartered Mediator who serves as the Executive Director of Legal & Corporate Services at Green Energy International Ltd (GEIL), the operator of the Otakikpo Marginal Field in OML 11.
He is also a founding member and pioneer Secretary of the Chartered Oil and Gas Practitioners of Nigeria (CORAN). Ilori has been instrumental in major developments at GEIL, including securing significant financing deals for the Otakikpo field. His expertise spans legal and corporate affairs, contributing to the strategic growth of GEIL in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
He was educated at the University of Ilorin, University of Lagos, Nigerian Law School, Abuja, and University of Cumbria, Carlisle, UK. He received professional training at various institutions, including Lagos Business School and Harvard Business School, Boston, USA
He holds a BSc Hon from the University of Ilorin, an LLB Hons from the University of Lagos, a BL from the Council of Legal Education, and an LLM from the University of Cumbria UK.
After a notable media stint as a Senior Reporter, he ventured into banking, holding the position of Assistant Controller and Head of Corporate Affairs at Omega Bank plc, now Keystone Bank, from 1994 to 1999. He served in various capacities, including as Personal Assistant to the Honorable Minister of Education from 1999 to 2002, Special Assistant to the Presidential Adviser on Energy Matters from 2005 to 2007, and Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ekiti State, subsequently becoming the Honorable Commissioner for Special Duties from 2007 to 2010.
His leadership experience includes serving on the pioneering Steering Committee of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) in 2005. He also served as a Member of the Board of Directors at NTA from 2005-2007, and as a Member of the Governing Boards of NAPTIP (2011-2012) and NITDA (2013-2015). Moreover, he joined the Board of Directors at GEIL in 2014 and was appointed Executive Director Legal in 2014.
He maintains membership in the Nigeria Bar Association, African Bar Association, and International Bar Association. He serves as Chairman of the Section on Business Law, Abuja branch, and Unity Bar from 2020-2022. Additionally, he is a member of the International Energy Negotiators Association and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators & Conciliators (ICMC).
