NYCN Kogi LG Chapter establishes ELCOM to organize congress in 3 months

As the tenure of the present leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Kogi/Koton-Karfe Local Government Chapter comes to an end, an Electoral Committee, ELCOM, has been inaugurated to conduct the upcoming Congress, which will be held within the next three months, specifically from December 2024 to February 2025, to elect new executive members that will steer the affairs of the council for the next 4 years tenure.
The inauguration of the Electoral Committee is a significant step towards ensuring a smooth transition of power and the sustainability of the council’s leadership.
The committee’s primary responsibility is to organize and conduct free, fair, and credible Congress that will produce new leaders for the council.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Kogi/Koton-Karfe Local Government Chapter has been at the forefront of promoting youth development and empowerment in both the LG, state, and the upcoming Congress is expected to be a pivotal moment in the council’s history.
A statement revealed that the Kogi LG NYCN Management, headed by Alhaji Odariko Isah Abubakar (Ada Abu), held a meeting on 15 November 2024 to deliberate on the forthcoming Congress
Hajiya Rakiya Suleiman, Head of Department (HOD) Education and Social Services to Kogi LG, who attended the management meeting, counseled the management to expedite the formation of an ELCOM Committee to host a congress within three months.
Alhaji Odariko Isah Abubakar Ada Abu declared that, by virtue of his authority as coordinator of the NYCN representing Kogi LG, he has set up the ELCOM Committee to manage the forthcoming congress.
The Election Committee is expected to commence the selling of forms, screening of aspirants, and organize a fresh Congress within 3 months.

2. Idris Buhari Osada to serve as Secretary
3. Abdullahi Kasim, member
4. Abubakar Yakubu Agenka, Member
5. Aliyu Ibrahim Achuku, member
6. Hajiya Rakiya Suleiman HOD Education and Social to Kogi to Kogi LG to as Observer
7. Zonal Vice Chairman West to Supervise the Congress
