When Hon. Sylvester Oromoni took the oath of office as Chairman of Warri South West Local Government Area exactly one year ago, he did so with a promise to deliver people-centered leadership rooted in integrity, action, and inclusivity. Under his watch, numerous development projects have been initiated, each with a clear purpose and people-focused intent. These include the construction of new police and administrative staff quarters, a fully equipped police station and officers’ mess, and a Corpers Lodge in Kurutie to support youth corps members serving the community. A new canteen at the LGA secretariat has also been completed, adding to the comfort and efficiency of workers.
Oromoni’s administration has not left education behind. From the provision of learning materials to direct support for students, the council has continued to invest in human capital development, ensuring that young people are better equipped for the future.
In the area of employment and environmental sustainability, over 150 youths and women have been engaged to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across communities, a move that simultaneously addresses joblessness and promotes public health.
