Akande is a graduate of the prestigious University of Port Harcourt where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political and Administrative Studies.

Unrelenting in studies, he went further to obtain a Master’s degree in Legislative Studies from the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, University of Benin. Still not satisfied, Akande went ahead to pursue his Ph.D in Legislative Studies from the Federal University, Lokoja.

During his compulsory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, year, he served as an administrative officer in Abuja Municipal Area Council. He would join Sowsco Well Services in the oil and gas downstream sector in Delta State after his service year, and worked as a pipe inspector. He left after securing a new job as an Aide in the Federal House of Representatives, where he gained practical knowledge of the rudiments and challenges of the legislative arm of government. He was actively involved in drafting bills and motions for lawmakers in the National Assembly.

No doubt, Akande is a lover of humanity especially the vulnerable ones. This was the reason for several of his philanthropic gestures over the years. The Ureshemi Care Foundation, UCF, was formed to improve the lives of Nigerians across board.

Akande has a life-long ambition; to serve the good people of Akoko-Edo in a capacity that will improve lives. He is not only passionate about the people, he is an ardent believer that Akoko-Edo has the potential to become greater than it is presently if it is well represented politically.
