….Lauds Gov Sule for approving the bypass road project
The Executive chairman of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Honourable Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas has explained why the council made a recommendation to the state government towards the construction of some rural roads in across the three districts, stating that the dilapidated Toto bypass road have been marked for construction since inception of his administration, commending the state government for making his dream a reality.
The Chairman said the road among others when constructed will improve the socio-economics growth of the Toto LG considering the geographical location with huge Minera resources deposits.
The Chairman’s statement comes after some officials from Nasarawa State Urban Development Board stormed Toto LG to survey and commence work on approved kilometres of roads
He recall how Governor Abdullahi Sule ordered for the construction of some kilometres of road in the 13 local government area of the State and as well asked the chairmen to forward their recommendations for considerations.
This is contained in a press statement issued by Senior Special Assistant, SSA, Media and publicity, Yahaya Idris Toto, said Nasarawa the state government is not only creating an enabling environment but also building efficient roads and drainages that will support private businesses and also attract direct investment to contribute to actualizing the new Toto LG.
Hon Aliyu Tashas pointed out that aside Toto, Umaisha and Gadabuke districts township roads recommended for constructions, adding that for those reasons, coupled with the understanding that infrastructure affects the quality of lives and the development of any society, the present administration in the state being led by Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has, in the last 5 years, been pushing aggressively to provide the needed infrastructure in Toto and it’s environ.
He asserted that Good roads infrastructure remains key to the economic development of any society as it is vital for smooth socio-economic activities. The economic impact that good infrastructure has on any society cannot be over-emphasised. It gives direction to the developmental plan of any society,” he stated.
“Nasarawa State Government is working to make our roads better. Several roads including the 47 kilometres Umaisha/Toto road is ongoing while others are about to get attention like the Toto bypass road.
According to the Chairman, the Nasarawa State Government’s intervention in roads and other critical infrastructure was part of Governor Sule’s led administration initiative to develop rural areas.
The council boss equally stated that the new projects will be financed by the LG adding that it’s a LG projects.
“As a way of linking communities and promoting local economies and enterprise, the APC led adminstration has also constructed good number of critical roads across the 13 local government areas.
“I am also pleased to inform you that the plan to construct some roads in Gadabuke and Umaisha towns is equally on course. Even as he said the council have marked out some rural roads construction.”
He appreciated all the stakeholders for their support and inputs leading to realization of this laudable project and initiative.
