Shatta Wale’s fans protest his detention at EOCO’s office

Shatta Wale fans have actively protested outside the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) in Accra, the capital city of the Republic of Ghana, following his detention.

The detention is linked to an ongoing investigation involving a luxury Lamborghini Urus that EOCO seized, which is suspected to be connected to proceeds of crime related to a criminal organization.

The fans have been singing his songs and holding demonstrations to demand his release. Shatta Wale spent the night of August 20, 2025, in EOCO custody and was later granted bail set at GH₵10 million with two sureties, though he had not yet met the bail conditions. His management has urged fans to remain calm and assured that legal efforts are underway for his release .

Additional details include Shatta Wale’s denial that he knowingly purchased a vehicle associated with criminal activity, claiming he bought it for $150,000 as a third party without knowing the seller well.

EOCO is continuing the investigation and has stated that Shatta Wale must address questions related to the case .

The protests by fans have been quite vocal and visible, reflecting his strong fan base known as the Shatta Movement .
