Toto LG chair appoints ex chairmanship aspirant as Council Secretary
….Charges him to demonstrate prudence, honesty and transparency
The Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government, Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya, has announced the appointment of Hon. Mohammed Baba Yahaya as Secretary to the Local Government.
The appointment was announced on Wednesday by Pharm. Baba Yahaya from his office, through the council’s information unit.
The chairman emphasized that for the administration to accelerate its governance agenda and lay the groundwork for achieving its goals, the appointment of the respected office of secretary is now essential.
The chairman congratulated the appointee on his well-deserved appointment, and emphasized the need for him to exhibit prudence, honesty, transparency, and an abiding fear of God, throughout his tenure.
Hon. Mohammed Baba Yahaya, popularly known as Alhaji Keke, was born and raised in Ugya, Ugya ward of Toto District, and was one of the frontline aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded LG election.
He completed his primary education at Ugya Central Primary School from 1985 to 1991, his secondary education at Government Secondary School Shafan Abakpa from 1994 to 2000, his National Diploma in Town and Regional Planning at Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa from 2001 to 2003, and his Higher National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning at Kaduna Polytechnic from 2007 to 2009.
Before his appointment, Hon Muhammed Baba Yahaya held the position of elected councillor for two terms, representing Ugya ward, and served as the majority leader of the Toto LG Legislative Council.
He was also a contestant for the APC party’s local government chairmanship position.
The statement quoted the chairman as saying that the date and time for his inauguration will be announced soon.
