Tragedy struck yesterday evening a military Officer believed to be in his late 30’s has been shot dead while two of the officers escaped death after a sub chief at Millenium City in Ghana fired live bullet on them in front of Millennium City District Police Command over Land.
The Military was shot dead at Millennium City, a popular recreational facility. Eyewitnesses report that the officer, whose name was not revealed was hit by live bullets during an altercation.
According to sources, a disagreement between the officer and security personnel at the facility escalated, resulting in the fatal shooting. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear.
The Ghana Armed Forces have issued a statement condemning the incident and promising a thorough investigation. The police have also launched an inquiry into the matter.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for increased security measures and an end to violence.
Information gathered indicates that, brother to one of the Military officers bought a land from a man called Winnebo Ndego on behalf of the Military Officers but anytime they wanted to develop the land, some group of people led by one Fifi stopped them from working on the land.
So today, the Deceased (Military officer) and his two friends decided to go and see the land themselves and find lasting solution, because they have already reported the case to Millennium City District Police Command.
Speaking to Trending GistGh, Winnebo Ndego said, when the Military officers arrived on the land, they saw another group of people working on the same land. Winnebo Ndego said, the Military Officers called the people who are working on the land to stop.
Ndego said, the officers who were using a private Toyota RAV4 car with Registration number GR 3591-24, drove to Millennium City District Police Command to lodge another complaint and asked what the police has done on their first complaint they filed some months ago.
Winnebo Ndego said, the the Chiefs followed the police officers to Millennium City Police station but the officer on duty told the officers that, their first Case has been forwarded to the Central East Regional Police command, so the officers decided to follow up to the region.
He said, immediately the officer started driving to the Central East Regional Police Command, Benlord Ababio who is the Gyasehene of Millinneum City told the officers to stop but the officer failed to stop.
Winnebo Ndego said when the officers failed to stop, Benlord Ababio popularly Known as Nana Ben pulled out a pistol and started firing on the military car He said, one of the officers died on the spot while the rest escaped death.
