Transition: Outgoing NADESSTU President Hands Over ₦4.8m, Bus, and Other Assets
…Wants Successors to Advance Achievements
Comrade Monday Wiska, the outgoing President of the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU), has officially handed over leadership to the newly elected executives.
In his farewell address, he urged the incoming team to build upon the foundation established during his tenure.
This transition marks a significant moment for NADESSTU, as the new leadership is expected to continue advancing the interests of Delta State students.

Speaking at the handover ceremony held at the State Secretariat, Asaba, Comr. Wiska Monday formally transferred key assets of the association, including the NADESSTU bus donated by the state government, the key to the NADESSTU secretariat, and a financial balance of ₦4,811,200 million to the incumbent administration to be led by Comr. Oweiotu-Ebi Oyinkare-Ebi Joseph.
He also pointed out that “A draft attestation document is ready for signature by past and present executives, guaranteeing the proper transfer of the vehicle, secretariat key, and ₦4.8 million.”
Wiska reflected on his tenure, highlighting key achievements focused on advancing student development, and stating: “We established the NADESSTU Centre for Excellence to promote academic achievement, and annually awarded the top five graduating students in Delta State with ₦50,000 cash prizes in recognition of their exceptional performance.”
“In addition, we launched the NADESSTU Centre for Entrepreneurship, which provided micro-credit grants of ₦20,000 to over ten student entrepreneurs. This initiative was designed to support their businesses while they balanced their academic commitments.”
Wiska noted that his leadership also introduced the Delta State Students Work-Life Preparatory Summit, equipping students with essential skills for life after university.
Furthermore, his administration sponsored 20 students to attend the YP Asaba Biggest Mentoring Event, where two exceptional participants received grants of ₦125,000 each.
A significant milestone, he said, was a partnership with Coriftech Solutions Limited to organise the Women in Tech Summit, empowering female students in technology.
“During the second edition of the summit, one student was awarded a ₦150,000 grant, while five others secured funding in the third edition,” he added.
Addressing student welfare, Wiska recalled his administration’s swift intervention in a police harassment case involving four students in Ogwashi-Uku.
“We successfully recovered ₦180,000 from the police and secured their release on bail,” he revealed.
He also announced the launch of the NADESSTU Official Diary, a historical documentation of the association’s past leaders since its inception in 1995.
“The diary contains photographs of all former national and chapter presidents, along with a comprehensive record of our achievements,” he said.
In his final charge to the new executives, Wiska urged them to consolidate and expand upon the programs initiated under his leadership.
“The Work-Life Preparatory Summit, the Centre for Excellence and Entrepreneurship should not abandoned but strengthened. It would be my greatest joy to see this administration surpass our achievements,” he said, praying for divine guidance and resources for the new leadership.
