Umuakpo Hosts PDP Faithfuls, Lauds Oborevwori’s Devt Strides In Delta
The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, Comrade Umuakpo Ovie, Sunday, played host to members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from the Aradhe/Ellu/Ovrode Ward in Isoko North Local Government Area.
The event, held to appreciate party faithfuls for their steadfast support, also served as a platform to commend Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his leadership and contributions to the development of the community.
Speaking during the gathering, Comr. Umuakpo expressed deep gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for appointing him and other sons and daughters of the ward into key positions within the state government.
He also lauded the Governor’s establishment of the College of Health Technology in Ovrode and the recent upgrade of the University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, to a full-fledged Southern Delta University capable of offering a wide range of academic programs.
Highlighting the urgent need for infrastructure development, Umuakpo appealed to the Governor to prioritize the construction of the long-abandoned Edhegbu Road.
He explained that the road was a critical part of his campaign promise to the people during the last election, emphasizing its importance to the community’s growth and accessibility.
He further thanked the people of the ward for their continued belief in him and their unwavering loyalty to the PDP, urging them to remain committed to the party’s success and to the re-election of Governor Oborevwori in 2027.
Several speakers at the event also praised the Governor for his inclusive governance and the appointments of Comrade Umuakpo and others across the Isoko Nation.
They described the Governor’s leadership as visionary and people-oriented.
