We are committed in improving more people’s livelihoods — NGO

Non-government organisations, the Divine Agenda (DA) and Nyerere Anyim Foundation, have assured on Sunday to continue with its humanitarian services in order to improve more people’s livelihoods and community development.
The foundation asserted that it had recorded tremendous strides, pointing out free education scheme, healthcare service programmes, sporting and building of houses and water boreholes across the three senatorial districts in Abia state, and beyond.
Dr Nyerere Anyim, the founder of the non-governmental organisations (NGO), stated this in an interview with a cross section of journalists in Umuahia, the Abia state on Sunday.
According to the organisations, “Apart from the annual Divine Agenda Unity Cup Tournaments, we’re into education. We have Nyerere Anyim free education scheme that trains from primary school up to university level.
“Over the years, we have produced graduates and then we are continuing the education scheme tomorrow by God’s grace.
“We’re into free health project where we assist people with their hospital bills, and even sponsored some people to undertake medical operations and what have you.
“We have equally support community development. The Nyerere Anyim foundation have built markets in some local communities in Abia state. We have sunk water boreholes across the Abia south senatorial district.
“The Nyerere Anyim Foundation built house for indigent man in Umuahia. So, these are some of our programmes we embarked upon tilted at improving people’s livelihoods.
“We’re into skill acquisition training program. Once you learn trading under auspices, we empower you to start a business.
“We helped women in this last farming season by procuring farming instruments, and distributing fertilizers for them to cultivate in our back to land agriculture project”,the organisations added.
Asked further to speak on people’s expectations this new year from the foundation, the Foundation stated the continuation of its humanitarian services to be able to enhance and uplift poor standard of living by the people in the society.
Words: “We have a tradition, and we’re not going away from those traditions. We’re continuing with our humanitarian programs and projects that had been institutionalized.
“We’re still going out to touch more lives because we at last bring hope at last to the people. The hopeless people, we give them hope through God’s grace, and instrumentality of God’s divine mercies upon us and also upon the humanitarian foundations.
“So, this new year, we expect people to key into our projects and the same services that had been rendered, and that is ongoing, we will continue with it”.
