What exactly is the EFCC’s intention regarding Yahaya Bello? – Onokpasa

Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello presented himself voluntarily at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, headquarters at early hours of Wednesday.

It is unclear why the law enforcement agency, plagued by corruption and inefficiency, failed to take him into custody or conduct any questioning, instead allowing him to return home

The EFCC requested that Yahaya Bello, who had been declared wanted, return home.

I have been informed that currently, the EFCC is present at the Kogi State Government Lodge in Abuja, reportedly discharging firearms and attempting to apprehend an individual who had previously reported to their office earlier in the day.

Who does that but a totally possessed criminal organisation masquerading as a low enforcement agency?

In short , the EFCC is really just a citadel of bribery and corruption.

I just recently underwent a medical procedure but rushed to the EFCC headquarters this morning when I heard GYB had reported himself to the commission only to be told that he was asked to go home.

In law, if you are declared wanted and you report yourself to law enforcement, only for law enforcement to ask you to go home, the presumption is that they have no case against you.

It is crystal clear that the EFCC was taken unawares by GYB ingressing their headquarters through the front door, like a true law abiding citizen, rather than through the backdoor as their pathetic excuse for a chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede, had hoped in what is obviously a ploy to shake him down under the guise of fighting corruption.

The EFCC is a most lawless agency .

It is, without a doubt, by far the most corrupt agency of our government and it should be clear to all Nigerians by now that it has no interest in fighting corruption.

This is not how to fight corruption.

The time is 10pm, Wednesday, 18, September, 2024 and I am driving to the Kogi State Government Lodge in Asokoro Abuja, right now.
