Yuletide: Kogi NUP Chair Ohida Sends Goodwill Message to Gov. Ododo, Preaches Love and Tolerance

On the occasion of the global commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, Engr. Clement Otaru Ohida, Chairman of the Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, has sent warm felicitations to Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Deputy Governor Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, senior citizens, the Christian community, and the entire citizenry.

In his Christmas felicitation message, Engr. Clement Ohida described Christmas as a joyous season, emphasizing that Jesus Christ’s birth brought salvation to humanity and the universe, freeing people from the shackles of sin and iniquity, as stated in a message made available to newsmen in Lokoja, Kogi state capital.

The Kogi State chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners used this auspicious occasion to implore Christians and non-Christians alike to adopt the virtues of love, sacrifice, peace, good neighborliness, and giving exemplified by Christ, stating that Jesus Christ is the ‘Prince of Peace’.

Engr Ohida further counseled those in positions of authority to lead with the fear of God by allocating public resources to benefit the citizenry and lauded the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his team for their outstanding performance in governing the state, which is a testament to their commitment to good governance.

He counselled citizens to seize the festive period as an opportunity to extend their wholehearted support to the current political leadership of the state, thereby facilitating the swift implementation of projects that benefit the populace, particularly in human capacity and infrastructural growth and development.

Ohida wishes the Christian community and non-Christians a merry and memorable Christmas celebration, while advising against indulging in ungodly and unholy behaviors that could lead to public mockery.
