2024 Doma LG election ‘best ever’, Says Jonathan Addra

Honourable Jonathan Addra

As citizens of Nasarawa State go out to exercise their franchise by electing a new set of council chairmen and councilors for the state’s 13 local government areas, the Doma LG chairmanship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Jonathan Addra, describes the process as peaceful.

Speaking after voting, Honourable Jonathan Addra commended the peaceful election, calling it the best ever held in the local government area.

He also explained that the ruling party would emerge victorious in all contested positions in Doma.

He stated, “The election exemplifies a truly democratic process, distinguished by its freedom and fairness, with individuals demonstrating the highest standards of conduct, thereby setting a new benchmark as the best election conducted in this local government,” he added.

While casting his vote, Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe commended the peaceful nature of the event and applauded the electorates for conducting themselves in an orderly manner.

Our reporter noted that, out of the 9 political parties involved in the exercise, PDP and NNPP were notably absent.

The two opposition parties alleged that the ruling party had already predetermined the recipient of the seat, selecting one of their loyal adherents.

Our reporter observes that the election was distinguished by widespread voter interest, resulting in crowded polling units, notably in the Doma Local Government area.
