52nd UNN Convocation lecture: Anyanwu lauds Uzodinma’s recommendations

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and the immediate past Board chairman of Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Chief Nduka Anyanwu, on Friday, lauded the management of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) for finding the Imo state Governor, Hope Uzodinma worthy to deliver the 52nd Convocation lecture of University of Nigeria Nsukka in Enugu state.

Recall that Uzodinma delivered the 52nd convocation lecture on the topic “Why Nigerian Universities should lead the way to a new country”.

Anyanwu, while reacting in a statement on Friday, described convocation lecture as apt, as it came when governments at all levels is making great efforts in repositioning the education sector teethed at producing expertises.

He also lauded the imo governor for outlining measures university system should adopt to enhance productivity and innovations.

 

“I must say that the importance of academic institutions as hubs of innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving cannot be overemphasized. “Research conducted by universities can provide viable solutions to contemporary challenges facing Nigeria. By leveraging their intellectual capital, academic institutions can offer insights into economic revitalization, social cohesion, and political stability.

Anyanwu noted some impactful policies implemented by the Governor Uzodinma-led administration towards enhancing teaching and learning in imo schools, which include equipping higher institutions of learning in Imo state with ICTs and other logistics.

He encouraged the present administration in the state to sustain the tempo in provision of quality education and other critical sector of the state’s economy, and further congratulated the UNN management for producing outstanding Nigerians in various fields of livelihoods.

He urged all critical stakeholders in the nation’s education sector to remain supportive to the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration which is propagated to provide basic education to every child im the country.
