As the Edo gubernatorial elections draw near, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, continues to harvest notable politicians with repute from the opposition into her fold.

Most recently, is the decamping of a bigwig Politician Prince Akeem Zibiri who is an ally and friend of Jarret Tenebe, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC. This move underscores the growing momentum of the PDP in the state.

Asue Ighodalo: Triumph of Experience and Competence

This resignation is following that of the party’s state Deputy Chairman, Chief Francis Inigbeneki, in a letter which has gone viral.

His move to the PDP is not unconnected to the fact that the APC in the state cannot hold their house together and the numerous tussle, bickering and the unsettling choice of the APC candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, who has been bringing dishonour to the party through his many gaffes.

There is also the need for a better leadership to overcome the numerous challenges that have besieged the nation and in no doubt the confidence in the PDP’s Candidates’ ability to bring about positive change in the State.

There is hunger in the nation and the Edo State citizens are blaming it on the APC lead administration. The majority of the voters have vowed not to vote for the party that has brought hardship upon them.

Talking seriously, beyond optimism or pessimism, plus or minus the Abuja factor, with the level of registration of voters in the just concluded Continues Voter Registration, PDP will surely win the 2024 gubernatorial election slated for September.
