Stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Board Chairman of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, ASCON, High Chief Nduka Anyanwu, has lauded the judgment of the Imo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which validated the election of Governor Hope Uzodinma for a second term in office.

GLOBALTIMES reports that the tribunal, in a unanimous judgement delivered by Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay’s three-man panel, held that Uzodimma’s election as the state governor complied with the provisions of the Electoral Act.

The tribunal thereby dismissed the petition filed by the Labour Party and its governorship candidate, Athan Achonu.

Anyanwu, in a statement on Tuesday, described the recent judicial pronouncement was a true reflection of the will of the imo people who defied heavy sun during the concluded state gubernatorial polls held in November last year, to exercise their franchise in electing Senator Hope Uzodinma as their Governor for another term.

He believed that the court decision would spur Governor Uzodinma to do more in the provision of critical infrastructure to enhance the economic growths of the state.

The two-time ex-member of the National Executive Committee of the APC, commended the judicial arm of Nigerian government for demonstrating as the last hope of a common man in the society in delivery of sound and unbiased judgment in the post-imo election suits instituted by the opposition members against the governor.
