Nasarawa Speaker hosts Eggon Traditional Rulers, drums support for Gov Sule’s administration to succeed.

….Warns citizens against unguarded utterances

 

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has called on the people of the State irrespective of their differences to support the administration of Gov. Abdullahi Sule in totality to enable him succeed instead of unguarded utterances capable of distracting the good intention of the state government.

The Speaker also appealed to the people of Eggon land to set aside any primordial sentiments, pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed on his mandate for more dividends of democracy to reach out to the people.

The Speaker made the call while playing host to Forum of Traditional Rulers from Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area today in Lafia.

Speaker Jatau said electioneering is over and is time for governance, thus calling on the people of Nasarawa State to burry their primordial sentiments and support the administration of Gov. Abdullahi Sule for more dividends of democracy to better the lives of the masses.

He commended the over 37 traditional rulers from Eggon land for identifying with him nothing that in many Eggon families there are mixed of religion both Christians and Muslims calling on his people not to allow any one divide them along religious line.

“First, I want to appreciate you my elders, my chiefs and all the kingmakers that are here from Eggon land for coming to identity with me for the honour done to me by God Almighty

“Strike or no strike I said I must come and see my fathers, we need to give all the necessary and total support for Gov. Abdullahi Sule administration to succeed, he loved us, he has passion for our people, apart from God Almighty, Gov. Abdullahi Sule is instrumental to my emergence as Speaker, we need to give him all the necessary support to succeed as Eggon people

“By the Special Grace of God, I will not fail you and the people of the State while discharging my duties, I want to appreciate my Honourable Members for the support am getting from them, we are fully with the Governor, we will not betray him

“Let’s all continue to preach and embrace peace and unity, live together irrespective of our affiliations, we should not allow religion or tribal sentiments to divide us” he said.

He said Governor Sule is steering the State to the path of higher development to compete with its contemporaries in terms of infrastructure hence the need for all to support him to succeed.

The Speaker called for constructive criticism to guide the Governor to achieve the task ahead instead of unguarded utterances capable of distracting the good intentions of the state government.

Speaker Jatau used the medium to called on the people of Nasarawa State not to allow religion, tribe and other societal sentiments undermine the relative peace the state is enjoying.

He maintained that peace and harmonious living remains the catalyst for socioeconomic development.

On the request put forward by the forum, “Maren Ba Eggon” on the elevation of some traditional stools, chiefdom and the letter of recognition of some of them, Speaker Jatau promised to communicate their plights to the Governor for appropriate actions.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation Chief Musa Osko Ebe said that the visit was to identify with the Speaker and assured him of their support and prayers at all times.

“We are here to pray, bless and advise you to achieve the task of legislation as number one lawmaker and number three citizen of the State, always operate with the fear of God and carry everybody along” he said.

The leader of the delegation, however appealed for the elevation of some of their traditional stools and chiefdom as well as letter of recognitions.

It would be reported that the forum of traditional rulers known as “Maren Ba Eggon” are community and traditional leaders cutting across villages, districts and chiefdoms from Nasarawa Eggon local government who were at the assembly complex to pray, bless and advise the Speaker to achieve the task of legislation.
